Song of the Day: Taylor Swift - We Are Never Getting Back Together
It’s time for Taylor Swift to win over the pop fans, and she has wisely drafted in Max Martin and Shellback to do it. It’s always a bit of a concern when an artist meddles with a formula that’s been working (she’s pretty much written all of her hits by herself so far), but if you have to do so then getting Max Martin involved is the best possible scenario. With Max’s help, Taylor is evolving into more of a pop-rock singer-songwriter, attracting comparisons to Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson. Personally I don’t think this is necessary, as there are plenty of wannabe Avril and Kellys and only one country-pop star as successful as Taylor, but nonetheless I’m excited to hear the album and We Are Never Getting Back Together is a great start.
